GP PARTNERS
We have 7 GP Partners attached to Tayview Medical Practice. Details of each partner, and their interests, can be found below.
GP TRAINING
The practice is an accredited training practice for the training of new general practitioners. These doctors have completed their hospital training and spend 18 months in the practice. During those 18 months, they partake in all aspects of practice work including consulting with patients.
If you are provided with an appointment with a GP Trainee, the GP Trainee may ask for your permission to record the consultation. The recording of the consultation by video is an important part of the GP Trainee's training in order to become a General Practitioner upon the completion of their training. The recordings are used within the practice between the GPs and the trainee for educational purposes.
Your full consent for such recordings will be sought from you at the time of your appointment and patients can decline such requests.
MEDICAL STUDENTS
We are also fortunate to have medical students attached to our practice for short periods. With the patient's consent, they may also consult with the GP and learn about general practice.
LOCUM DOCTORS
At times, such as when a doctor is on annual leave, the Practice will use a locum doctor in order to assist the Practice. Locum doctors are fully qualified general practitioners and have been fully certified by NHS health boards to enable them to locum at practices.
